What are your favorite places that are not named Fargo and will not be too packed on game days? Especially places with good lean brisket.

Holy Smokes is the best I've ever had. They cater and run a food trailer, you'll have to check their Facebook for the location of the day on the weekends.

I agree with DBS.... Holy Smoke has a good brisket!

Yeah ... the first 2 google hits for Lamar & Niki are Brazos County Health Inspections and it looks like you have to friend Holy Smokes on Faceboo
Lamar and Niki's just opened within the last month or so, I think. They desperately need a website! Niki occasionally posts the daily soulfood menu on her Facebook under Niki Cole. I have been there twice and they are still working out the kinks, but the food is really good.
Martin's Place and it's not even close.
I'm a fan of Fargo's but Martins is great and I think should meet the OP's needs of being not packed out on game day. Cool old building with a lot of history.
I have not even come close to thinking martins is good. I only know one person IRL who likes that place.

Lots of people like Martin's, including me.
Another possibility is the red BBQ trailer Lew's, that's usually parked in the shopping center where Primo Pizza was (replaced by Daily Bread bakery). No idea where they will be on game day, but their bbq is quite good.

Martin's is pretty bad and the service there is even worse, unfortunately.
Frank's Country Store has great BBQ and quick service.

I love Rudy's on Harvey. Brisket and Sausage are great.

C&Js without a doubt. I go to the Harvey Road location 2-3x a week. Love the turkey and jalapeo cheese sausage sandwich.

Man, did I tell you about the worst BBQ I ever had?? It was GREAT! haha Well, I am interested in this because I do love me some BBQ and since the Mrs. and yours truly are now Paleo enthusiasts, meat is our staple. I have enjoyed Martin's, C&J, and Rudy's, but am very interested in trying new stuff. Heck, I even like the ribs at Cheddar's a LOT! So, maybe I just don't have a particularly picky pallet. Say that fast five times.
Man, I guess I need to go retry martins.

Please, I need an assist with the Holy Smokes. Found them on facebook late last week, but nothing current. Tonight a dozen others are popping up. A direct link would be great.
For Holy Smokes BBQ & Catering they have 979-777-5924 listed on the flier posted on their page. I spoke with both of the owners today and they're rocking it, but are mainly staying more towards word of mouth instead of a strong web and social media presence for now.
