I'm at war with an armadillo. He's broken my usual 28 gauge wire and 24 gauge.

Anyone trap one before and what size wire did you use?

Mr. armadillo doesn't like going into the havaheart. The possums love it in there though. I'd like to keep them around.

More snares set last night. Next attempt I'm going full on engineer with a counter weighted snare and a trigger system to get him in the air so he can't break the wire.

You need stranded cable not wire. A 1/16" 7x7 stranded is designed for this. A 3/32" 7x7 for larger animals like fox and coyote.

Store bought snares? Looks good as I'm all out of wire on this set. Pics when I catch em.
