Finding camoflaged animals in a photograph appears to be a big thing in England. I found these on a British web site.

The first is not too difficult -- find a kipspringer (some kind of antelope) in this photo:

The second is fiendish. There's an owl in there somewhere but I can't find it:

On the second pic, I think the owl is on right hand side of the tree trunk in the center of the picture, halfway up. It looks like a grayish owl out of focus. The owl itself is almost exactly centered on the picture. Maybe.

So as not to spoil it for others, click here for the owl and look for red outline

Did you know you could do THIS to avoid spoiling?

And I agree, (before looking at the outlined image) you can clearly see the owl's claw wrapped around the branch he's sitting on.

ETA, darn it, I forgot it doesn't work for images.

First one took a minute but the second one I just happened to zoom straight to a talon wrapped around a branch immediately.
I always liked the photos a poster here would put up with find the muley or how many in this pic.

This is one thing I believe my color blindness helps me with.
Used to drive my color seeing hunting friend nuts that I could see a gar rising in murky water a solid minute before he could.

I agree.

Yesterday I couldn't see the owl at all. I could see his talons that someone mentioned, but I couldn't make out the owl at all.

I just looked at it again this morning and had no problems seeing the owl as well as his talons.

Also... scale on the first picture is important.

You don't know if you're looking for a small or large animal outline.

Owl jumped out at me, but I've been doing 2 years of bird surveys now.

...Since you are "really" saying I see 5 and a butt I'll move you from Good to Better.

Wait, there actually are 5 plus the butt, for 6 total?

That's what I see now.....so the real answer is probably 12

If there is more than 6 someone else will have to mark those

See, I think your 2 and 4 are the same deer. There aren't enough legs for there to be another head in there. #3 has small horns, which might make it seem like there is another set of ears behind it.

As Sean, Centerpole, Ursusguy or NW80 would say...ie might say, "Don't trust that old fart, he will crop out legs just to make it harder....he is chicken s*%t!"

First picture hard because it is not a 'kipspringer' but the klipspringer is 12:00 o'clock high standing front on head high. Just under the top of the picture. Delicious little antelope but fairly expensive compared to similar duikers or steenbok.
