I know I've been out of the loop for a week but have we had a discussion about the Magellan coolers at Academy yet? I guess it's their response to the Engel/Kuer /Yeti /RTIC/Ozark Trail line of rip off schemes.

I saw one in person today and two rednecks were guarding it with their life in the back of the store. ... I assume until their pregnant girlfriends could sell the trailer and bring enough cash to buy the beautiful ice protector.

It's identical to the ozark trail.

They haven't been mentioned recently but they've been out over a year

Same latch system, same drain. Different color. Different logo. So, same in the ways that matter.

How does cost compare to ozark trail version?

Saw a stack of these in the 35 and 75 sizes at the Memorial City Academy. Looked like a good deal for the price

They appear to be slightly different sizes and more expensive. The 52ish quart is $149 for Walmart and $199 for Academy. The 73ish quart is $199 for Walmart and $299 for Academy.

Major difference I see is the bottle opener and cup holders in the OT version. Advantage = OT.

Identical hinge/handle/drain system.

Why don't any of these have freaking wheels? No way my back can handle carrying a loaded down cooler.

No cup holders but there IS a bottle opener.

Don't care for the latch system - was going to buy one until I saw the latch system in person at the Temple Academy

They do have them at the College Station Academy. I've seen them a few times. Not sure if in stock now, but did see some on the 4th

Yes. I believe Luke Bryan has an AR15 line there, but you have to ask for it because its under the counter or something.
