How about a consolidation of snakes you guys see in one thread this year? I'll answer your ID questions and post some as I see them to keep it at the top.

Snake season never really ends here so here are a few I've seen so far this year.

See, this is why I would have been bitten. I see a metric crap ton of frogs and snails, but only 3 copperheads. I'm sure my dumbass would be standing on one in flip flops.

Snakes are outdoors and a little education never hurt anyone. Especially the kill it with fire because it has no legs crowd.

I registered for the python challenge this year, but didn't find any. Apparently lots of other people did. I'll stay on the look-out and update this thread with the other snakes I find. Last year I mainly found lots of black racers and ring necks.

While I admire the attempt to have a single snake thread for the calendar year, our OB brothers will fail to deliver.

Don't care which snakes are good or bad they all would be dead if they cross my path. I hate snakes!

Instead of seeing a pic with snakes and frogs you would see a pic with dead snakes and a pile of shotgun shells with frogs all around them. Good riddance

judging by the yellow tail I'd expect those copperheads to be on the order of inches long

I've tried counting heads and tails and I am stuck on 3 in that pic. Is this one of those dang pics where I have to stare and look cross eyed to see the others! I never see the dang schooner!

Snakes are an interesting discussion on this board. I'm surprised there is as much fear in posters of snakes for an Outdoor forum.

Reak simple there are 4 poisonous snakes in Texas. That's it. Learn to identify them and the rest are ok. Most you see in suburbia are eating the mice and rats trying to get in your home.

Well stop being ignorant by learning your snakes.

That will eliminate you're fear.

Rattler
Cottonmouth
Copperhead

All have sharp triangular heads and distinctive colors.

Then there is Coral. Someone fill in the color saying here. But bottom line on corals is they can be deadly but have extremely small mouths and it would take a bite between your fingers for a puncture.
