Used it to make homemade peach ice cream w momma when I was a little one. Does that count? She didn't use a shotgun to make her ice cream though, and the stray cats would have loved the leftover peach ice cream....if there had ever been any leftovers. Man, those were the good ol' days. Maybe I'll see if I can guilt her into making a batch this summer now that she's got a 4 yr old grandson she likes to spoil rotten.

It hurts. Bloody. Torn jeans that are hard to explain to parents. Wouldn't shoot anything with it but the guy down the river that grew watermelons in the mid 80 surely would.

I used to cut open the ends of shotgun shells, pour hot candle wax in, let it cool, and shoot things with it all the time. I put a hole through a tin shed once though, so shooting a pet may result in more injury than you wanted...

So how would they do the rock salt? Empty the shot out of a shotgun shell, press the plastic back down, then pour the salt in on a chambered round? Or do you put the salt in where the shot used to be?

Sounds like you and a friend of my sister's had a lot in common!

Heard about rock salt in shotguns around the time I was in jr. high. Never tried it, but suspected it had a real short range. Does it travel fast enough to break skin?
