My FIL just came by to wish me a happy bday, and he left me with this. Apparently the original owner fell on hard times and needed the money. Does anyone know much about them besides what I found on this forum?

It is in perfect condition. Never been fired, or even taken out of the original wrapping much. It came with a display case which has red velvet interior built to perfectly house the weapon and a bronze Aggie ring style crest type paperweight.

It still had the factory packing grease on it. I wiped off some of the dried grease and put on some new oil.

Got the same with my class year on the ser. #. Not really sure what they are worth. Never fired and comes out of the display once in awhile. Passed mine down to the youngest son a couple of years ago.

Sorry Randy, I think I'm going to keep this one original.

The grips that came with this gun are a little different than show in the picture above. They are wooden with a maroon texas emblem. I'm not sure how many different variations the gun originally came with, but I think I'm going to leave this gun as mint as possible.

Yeah those maroon medallions are the originals. I'd keep those, too!

You are lucky man, but I don't know that I could own a firearm that was strictly a display firearm. I'd have to put some rounds through it, if anything to hear it sing.

Not sure they are still available. Might find a used one I suppose. If I remember correctly Colt only made one for each class year.
