Do we have a 2010 thread on this yet? Search function times out repeatedly.

Has anyone here ever been a storm/weather chaser? Stories? As far as the show goes I'm becoming increasingly addicted to watching Timmer annoy that smug-azz Sean Casey. I guess Coach Fran, uh, I mean Dr. Wurman isn't on the show this year, but that's okay; next week Timmer's team picks up weatherdoll Ginger Zee.

I took a stab at it by placing my game cam in a tree hoping to catch a few pics of some foul weather, but it hasn't rained since.

I'd love to see her chase a blizzard......in that shirt.

Yeah a wet wintry mix would do that shirt just fine.

I can't stand Casey - that guy is such a dewsh with his overwhelming peenis envy over Reed.

No wonder the preview for next week's episode had him throwing the chubby guy out of the Dominator, haha.

I used to chase while at TAMU, although I haven't had much of an opportunity since I've had to start working for a living. SE TX is not great for chasing.

I enjoy watching the show for mindless entertainment, but it drives me nuts as a chaser/meteorologist to see all the risks that get taken. I don't know when getting inside the tornado became the goal, but it shouldn't be.

Center,

When I was a kid in the 70's all you had to do to see a tornado was sit on the back porch in most storms in Hart, Texas.

Daddy would either say, "Son, this is a million dollar rain." Or he would say during tornado/hail "Son, this is not a good thing."

He was pretty succinct.

Yep,

From about the mid 60s to mid 70s, Lamb/Hale/Castro/Swisher counties were pretty much in the bulls-eye of Tornado Alley. But that has seemed to shift way east in the last few years. Seems to be working back west, though.

We may have to do a "have you ever been in a tornado" thread.

Good rule of thumb for chasing:

If you're not sure where to go, head to Throckmorton County.

For some reason they always seemed to have the good storms when we were chasing.
