Got an old 8+ that the battery is finally giving up the ghost. What is the most economical avenue if I just want to replace it with an iPhone to work on T-Mobile? Don't need the latest greatest but probably at least a 14.

I've had good luck with refurbs from BackMarket. Also, the upgrades from the iPhone 13 to the 14 are pretty negligible, so you could probably save some $$$ going with a 13.

At this point, I would strongly suggest getting a 15 as the charging port has changed to USB C. Over the next couple of years, finding quality cables and accessories which utilize the lightning connector will likely become more difficult.
