Just got TV set up after the move, only to find out that it was damaged. A crack in the screen and all I'm getting is vertical lines and some color. Weird thing is when it's off you can't see the crack. 60" Sony with their "near 4K" technology. Bought it 2 years ago for around 1600. Wouldn't mind spending that amount again but I am positive I could get 4K and 65" for that price.

So Nerdery, I ask you.. What should I get?

Best Buy has this one on clearance, and it leaves you enough room to grab a 4k bluray player while you're at it

When looking for a TV I'd use this website to help compare the features available, and the actual performance once calibrated. I wouldn't take the word solely from Texags. I purchased a 50" Vizio P Series a couple of weeks ago and have been very happy with that purchase, it has features that the linked Sony display does not. FALD, HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR (HDR10 firmware was just released this week and the rtings website has not yet been updated as its not fully rolled out to all owners, but is coming).

I haven't bought a new tv in awhile, but I've gone with Samsung or Vizio the last few times. I always seem to like their picture and features best. Samsung is usually one of the most expensive though.
