Edit: BTW Adobe houses suck with this trait also.

They'll sometimes give you one if you call customer service and talk about switching. Or eBay one for less than $100 usually.

From my recent research to solve an issue with AT&T coverage in an office of 8 users, this is no longer the case. However, you can buy them via eBay and Craigslist for less than retail.

And actually, the newest "LTE" model is $299.99. The 3G model can be had for <$100 used.

I picked up a microcell from AT&T corporate store (can't be franchise). Received free of charge with a one year agreement (contract on existing phone) that ran concurrently. I'm not a fan of AT&T but love the microcell.

Again must be a corporate store. Mall franchise would not offer the same deal.
