What else do I need? I have current access to the following:

HDTV Antennea (networks)
Roku 3
Netflix
Amazon Prime

I Plan to add:
Hulu Plus
HBO Go (freeloading from a friend)
Sling TV (during aggie football season)

Is there anything I can get for a one time cost that would let me pause live tv? maybe a cloud hard drive? anything else i need to do?

plan to use Comcast 25MB internets.

for DVR capabilities, i have my antenna feed into an HD Homerun, this is an ethernet connection tuner. I use windows media center with the HD Homerun to act as my DVR. That stays in the basement, and I watch through my xbox 360

It has worked pretty well for me for a few years now. It was worth the cost for me, because I only had to purchase the HD Homerun and make an antenna. I already had all the other pieces I needed. If I didn't already have the xbox360, I would have found another way

Also, I would suggest looking to see if your cable provider has an internet plus HBO package. It's essentially about 15 channels including HBO. For me, it was only $3/mo more than just internet.

I haven't had cable or dish for 15 years. I survived. I've had to listen to a few Dave South Aggie games on the radio, but those are some of my greatest memories of Aggie games during that time. Old school.

I have had Netflix streaming since the day it was offered.

for me
25mb d/l alone was 69$
but 25 d/l + (basic tv + hbo )x1yr was 39$ [internet only]

so that was a no brainer

is hulu plus worth it

We tried sling for about a week and it was working really well. Then we had to get a new modem according to Suddenlink. We got the new modem and everything else still works including Amazon and Netflix but sling doesn't work anymore. We have been on the phone with them three times and they have no idea how to fix it.
