I was thinking about switching our ATT home service to Ooma? Has anyone else used Ooma and were you happy with it?

Switched from a landline with AT&T to Ooma while I was upgrading to a Uverse Gigabit package about 2 months ago. 3ish bucks a month for the local taxes and 911 fee is way more palatable than the $20 a month I was paying to make about 2 calls a month from the phone. I haven't had any of problems 92 listed, which I attribute to just getting newer versions later in the product life cycle. I also don't have any bandwidth issues with 700+ upload speeds. I'm a big fan of Ooma so far.

I've had Ooma for several years. We love it. I was able to get it before you had to start paying fees. No problems at all.

I forgot, my alarm system wouldn't work with it.

Don't do it if you're on DSL or slower. It's horrible on AT&T DSL (6 Mbps).

I have Ooma and works fine with 50mb Suddenlink. Was iffy when we had 15mb down.

We have had it 2+ years and been happy. We also pay the $3/mo for 911 service.

I've had it for 6 years, and have no problems. My internet is only 5/1 but has never been an issue.

Remember VOIP dial tone is using upload speed heavily. Your voice packets are hitting a cloud server (upload) that then go out to the PSTN for routing... I imagine the 6mbps you just listed in download.
