I use a phantom 2 vision+ for work sometimes, and it uses a 2.4 ghz Wi-Fi range extender for relaying its pov video to a phone or tablet. Currently, the pov range is nothing close to the controller range, so I'd like to improve the Wi-Fi connection with a more powerful repeater.
I've looked at several options, but I'm not sure what to go with. I'd like something in the sub $100 range, but I could probably go to $150. Also, I would need something omnidirectional with a high receiver sensitivity and halfway decent vertical coverage. Should I go with a high powered access point with a repeater mode, or look at just getting an outdoor antenna? I've done a lot of looking, but it's hard to know what to get since I don't have a lot of experience with this and don't have a huge R&D budget to test out a lot of different devices. Any advice is appreciated.
