Haha stupid happy thumbs.....

Well a little over a week to go for this one....Anyone picking it up?

Might be more excited for this one than I was for Dark Souls 2

I'm most definitely looking forward to getting this one. It's one of the reasons I went PS4 this generation.

Made my preorder for the collectors edition yesterday. Collectors edition was all sold out on Amazon and Best Buy; had to settle with Gamestop. If you want the collectors edition, get it sooner rather than later.

Preordered this past weekend. Can't wait.

I was a super late-comer to the souls series (only recently got into Dark Souls 2) and still haven't even made it halfway through that game, but am beyond excited for Bloodborne.

This article only served to pump me up more. I have a Vita and a ton of my gaming gets done via remote play so the wife can watch her reality TV shows and the 1 year old can watch her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. So pumped that they got the controls right. I HATE it when games insist on mapping R2 and L2 to the rear touchpad.

I'm at peak excitement. I've basically gone media-silent though, so I hope it turns out as great as the Souls games.

Anything special besides the art book, steel case and soundtrack that comes with the special edition?

Just bought a PS4 for this. Super stoked. Not as stoked as I was for DS2, as that game was a little bit of a letdown. I did a midnight release for that one and took the first day off - not doing any of that this time.

Everyone also grts a digital guide for the first dungeon and some skins for the grave checkpoints for pre-ordering. The UK has a Nightmare edition which has more stuff on it, but we just get what you mentioned. The game isn't niche anymore. I got the steel case for Dark Souls just for preordering.

Add me! Same name as my texags name on ps4.

Also got into the series later, played demon souls. Never played the dark souls games but I heard mixed reviews. I loved demon souls and I'm really looking forward to bloodborne! I've been thinking about preordering it

You should play Dark Souls. If you liked Demon's Souls this is a no-brainer.

Mixed reviews must mean that Dark Souls is an all-time classic and Dark Souls 2 is merely very good, right?

Seriously, Dark Souls 1 is easily one of the best games of the past decade.

I'm ready! Cleared my backlog and everything!

Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are easily some of the best games in the last 10 years. (For me, they are 1 and 2 respectively). Dark Souls 2, was great but you could feel the absense of Miyazaki (the director and creater of Demon's and DaS).

I've gone pretty much media blackout for this so I know very little about the actual mechanics and have only seen a minute or two of gameplay. FromSoftware and Miyazaki gets a blind day one purchase from me everytime.

Looking at going for a Threaded Cane start, anyone know a good starting origin that would go along with it?

I haven't been on blackout by any means, but I know just enough to even understand what you're saying.

The whip or the giant cleaver are what appeal to me. The whip just fits the Castlevania mood. With all the focus on bloodborne diseases, any chance we'll meet a vampire?

1 day for me. Seattle Gamestops are releasing the game tomorrow at 9 so I will be able to put at least 2 hours in.

For any PVPers out there, Oroboro has a new video today with a suggested starting class (Military Veteran) for any Strength, Skill (formerly Dexterity), or Quality builds (quality is a hybrid of the other two that gives good access to most weapons in the game). I'll likely start out working towards a Quality build.

He also suggests that the PVP meta will be level 125, like it was in DeS and DS1. I'm so happy that Soul Memory is gone!

I've done some PVPing in the first two games, but got into the scene too late in DS1, and then DS2 didn't hold my interest much past the finish. I did do a ton of Blue Sentinels arena PVP, but the ability to heal all the time got super annoying. Plus, the arena design was pretty crap compared to actually PVPing in the world. Too bad that covenant was broken in terms of actually being summoned to aid someone, which was the whole reason I picked it.

I also spent a ton of time PVPing the first optional Tower in DS2, putting down my sign on the bridge leading into it in order to help escort people past the invaders and into (and past) the boss encounter. Did a ton of that. It was great fun.

Here's hoping that Bloodborne takes everything they've learned about PVP gaming and gives us the best version yet! I'm hopeful that having everyone on the same platform will help the scene; has anyone heard anything regarding dedicated servers, etc.? Just as long as we're not in the DS1 hell of peer-to-peer connections.

Not very far, and this is my first souls game. Started with a skill build but started over with a strength build. Nothing says fun like the tutorial intentionally killing you to start and introduce the mechanics of the game. Seems like this is fun, dodging is pretty good, just need to get used to button pressing

It happens. I didn't own a ps3 when demon came out and dark was when I took a break from gaming. The series never jumped out at me as something to try out.

The thing I am impressed with is that when I die, I am frustrated but don't feel pissed off about it. I know I can just go back and try something else so at least now in the early levels I don't feel like stupid number of mobs are attacking shielded that crank up the artificial difficulty. I will say the respawn can be brutal. I went through an area three times last night before I unlocked a shortcut from the cleric beast first boss back to the campfire. I don't care if it is cheap, I am leaving an ign wiki up for this alone so I don't miss the checkpoints and shortcuts.

Some of the Dark Souls 2 bosses were hazardous for the health of my Xbox 360 controllers. If the bosses in Bloodborne are anything like that, I might need to invest in a PS4 controller insurance plan.

Gonna definitely pick this up next month when I have some more time.

Yeah, Miyazaki is a genius in enemy creativity and making death feel more educational than frustrating. And don't feel like finding shortcuts are cheap; they are imperative to the game's design, though I would suggest finding them on your own. A huge reason why Dark Souls is so beloved is because players realized how organic and connected the world was by finding logical shortcuts between areas. Can't wait to pick this up after work.
