Yes. They pushed back the "1st generation" release and are now doing beta. The mobile app comes out today which will give early adopters the ability to opt in for the beta version or wait until the final release this spring.

I hope they would send an email once the Coin app is loaded in the app stores.

If I am selected to receive a Coin Beta card, I will definitely do it. It is free and I will still be able to receive the 1st gen coin when it is officially released. Hoping my early Dec 2013 pre-order date will snag me a Beta.

meh, new technology - I'll give them some leeway. They are getting ripped by backers in the comments on their blog though! Lot's of upset people at all the delays.

Beta will launch just it time to be obsolete because of the chip card requirements starting next year.

The app is on the App Store already. It went live at 11. FWIW, I read that in first 6-8 hours of being sold there were 20k preorders. Since they're only giving the first 15k beta access I think most are SOL. I'm canceling my order. They said Summer now they're saying late spring next year?

If the app asked for my shipping info after I signed in, does that mean I made the BETA cut?

I really debated on just waiting it out but the company has been very shady about the release information so I backed out. I know it's only $50 but still it just didn't seem right to wait a whole year and a half since I ordered to get the thing.
