What did they ever do with the logs from the '99 collapse? Are they in a warehouse somewhere or something? Just curious. Thanks.

Left out in a grassy clearing. They were already mostly overgrown when last I saw them around '05.

After the Linbeck report came out they were just left to rot.

Center pole was kept in a warehouse behind stores/surplus property for several years.

Yeah the logs are at the water treatment plant near Easterwood.
They have been there ever since they were moved from stack site .
Mostly grown over now but you can still see them

Thanks. My buddies and I always thought it was over by the water treatment plant here, but could never find them. I didn't realize there was a separate plant.

Wow, this is something I think about a couple times a year. Thanks for the info. For some reason it's really surreal looking at that aerial view. After stack fell, I would go out there once in a while, just to be there. It seemed like the logs were there forever.

They should shred those logs. What an eye sore and terrible reminder.

Wow, I just read that they did not settle the last of the lawsuits until May of 14. I bet they had to retain all the logs and centerpole as evidence until it was all over. 15 years to finally get it over. Geez.

So have they disappeared? I couldn't get the link to work and an old Google search would work but not a new one.

I think this is were they are/were. I'm guessing Google has updated their images? I thought I remembered being able to make the piles out very clearly on google before. A lot of the logs have probably been taken. I know there was someone making memorial pens out of the actual wood from the collapse. I'm sure a lot of it has just rotted away.

Yea I ran across one updated picture where there were a lot more brush cover around them but the image that was closer to yours I was having an even harder time seeing them. Thank you.
