How long do you want to ignore this user?
I remember discussing it with some folks on here months ago. The DVD is finally out.

Some of you are going to love this movie. It is like nothing you have ever seen from a movie studio in your life.

I rented it yesterday, watched it, studied the rest of the day, couldn't study because I kept thinking about it, got online and read nearly every thread at the official site's message board, then watched it again that night in bed with the director's commentary. This one's on the level of 12 Monkeys and Donnie Darko where you just sit and stare at the screen when it's over, wondering what the hell just happened... but in a "that was damn cool" way.

It's amazing they made that thing in Dallas for $7000. A bunch of Texas guys who had never acted or used a camera before in their lives. That's just inspiring.

(And for anyone who's trying to rent it in College Station right now, I'm pretty sure I have the only copy in town. Hastings wasn't even carrying it and Blockbuster only had one copy and it was in the back room - they didn't even bother to put it on the shelf. Though, the one in Bryan may have a copy. I'll return it tomorrow morning (Thursday) for anyone who cares.)

The one on Texas by Harvey Washbangers. I'll either drop it off tonight or tomorrow morning - depending on if I get out again today.

I picked it up yesterday...I'll probably watch it this weekend (I saw it in theaters last fall). It's mind-blowing.

I watched the first half of it lastnight. I'm totally lost right now. All I know is that they are making some kind of machine in the garage and when they unhook the batteries it keeps going. And something inside is losing weight.

Do I have it right so far?

I think the major point is that they scew something up and have to change stuff. I'm probably wrong because I didn't give the movie the attention it needed. I was back and forth from one room to the next. (Stuff came up AFTER I started the movie....)

I need to watch it again at full attention.

Remember it's not a time machine, per se. Whatever is inside the box does not have the earth's gravity pulling on it so it stays "frozen in time" meaning that you can stay inside the box for 8 hours and 8 hours will elapse on earth but to your body-when you get out-it's still the same time as when you got in.

That doesn't make sense to me. Really all you are saying is that their bodies are the only thing that is affected and nothing else in the time-space continuum is. The only result is that time would have passed on the outside and their family and friends would have wonder where the hell they are every time they were missing for 8 hours.

It also doesn't account for there being two of each of them. If they weren't going back in time or forward in time, as you say, there would never have been two of them occupying the same time.

It was weird for me because apparently the blond-headed guy is from my hometown and used to date my girlfriend's best friend. They are all friends. Small world.

I just watched this again. Still don't get it. But what's funnier is that TC used to go to Blockbuster.

I should really start paying attention to time stamps. Talking about renting from blockbuster had me a bit confused.

I actually met Shane Carruth when he was scouting locations for Upstream Color. He visited our farm north of Dallas for a farmhouse/barn scene.

Primer is on Netflix for the record, I decided to watch it before sleeping last night, bad idea. 4 a.m. I looked up a flow chart for the movie and I'm even more confused. May have to watch it again today.

Oh yea and the flow chart "explaining" the movie:

This thread just confused me as much as the movie did because I read my own post and was confused as hell about me mentioning my girlfriend....because I have been married for 8 years! Then I noticed the time stamp.

there are actually a couple of blockbusters still open here in Alaska. I have not been in them so I don't really know if they do things differently now though.

Oh, the mis-spent days of my youth (or sort-of-youth), being a manager for that long, lost place. Used ot manage stores in the Plano and Dallas area (and even Cincinnati for a while). Then I came to my senses and got a job where I did not work weekends or holidays.

Just finished this movie and was confused. Then I read (or tried to read) the timeline link hunter posted above and now my head hurts. Need to watch dumb and dumber to equalize

There is only one time I have been more confused with something in this vein and that is zero escape:virtues last reward for the Nintendo 3ds. It is a puzzle game/visual novel. Now that game is heavy . Play the original game 999 9 people 9 doors 9 hours on the ds first though as zero escape is a sequel
