Worst Bond movie?

For me, it's a close race between "Moonraker" and "Diamonds Are Forever". Moonraker is overly cartoonish with the outer space stuff, plus the bad guy looks like a thinner Paul Prudhomme/Dom DeLuise. Diamonds is cheesy in that late 60s/early 70s special way.

What makes me like Diamonds a little more is you can see a lot of what Vegas looked like 45 years ago. I think Moonraker wins the worst award. As smooth as Roger Moore was as his incarnation of Bond, it's still worse than anything Timothy Dalton attempted. Dalton's acting was horrible but the movies themselves weren't bad.

Moonraker or any Brosnan one not named Golden Eye. He got stuck with some terrible writers.

I haven't seen Moonraker since I was about 10, so I'll go with Die Another Day

I have a special hate for Lazenby and his cleft chin so I'll say OHMSS. Diana Rigg was the redeeming factor in that film. Die Another Day is probably the worst overall.

Die Another Day was atrocious.

Interesting. I may have to punish myself and go watch Die Another Day again. But, I have to say, it's that movie that made me fall in love with Rosamund Pike.

That was one of the worst movies ever made. There have been some clunkers in the Bond franchise but that one took it to another level.

Goldeneye was the only Brosnan outing worth a damn, the rest rank from fossilized dog crap to steaming dog crap.

Many of Roger Moore's movies were not good because they were so campy, even though all of those had some memorable scenes.

I did not like Quantum of Solace but otherwise all of Daniel Craig's movies have been top notch.

Sean Connery is the best Bond but he did have a clunker in Diamonds Are Forever.

I like casually viewing any of the old movies that inspired "Austin Powers". That was a great era of Spy Movies. The new ones get lost in the shuffle of Bourne and Mission Possible and all the other clones.

That may have been the only redeeming factor for Die Another Day.

I agree that the only good Brosnan film was Goldeneye and that the others were bad, but Denise Richards in The World is Not Enough was pretty easy on the eyes. Plus the puns in that movie were almost Roger Moore era worthy.

This isn't even up for debate. Die another Day.

Most disappointing? Spectre.

"I thought Christmas only came once a year" That was golden.

Rosamund Pike was a huge plus for Die Another Day. That sword fight outfit was awesome.

Die another day is the worst.

Moonraker was OK until the space scene.

QoS was Craig's worst but not even close to those 2.

All of Bronson's stuff was pretty bad also besides for Golden Eye.

Moonraker is infinitely better than A View to a Kill.

need like a worst per Bond.....and then ranked worst to least worst....

Brosnan - Die Another Day
Moore - A View to a Kill
Dalton - The Living Daylights
Lazenby - well not really fair but - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Craig - Quantum of Solace
Connery - Thunderball

Jill St. John in that tiny bikini redeems Diamonds are Forever.

I thought View to a Kill was the worst...but I didn't see Die Another Day. Never say Never again wasn't good even with the Connery comeback.

I didn't think Spectre was bad. I think everyone just wanted another Skyfall, and were disappointed that it wasn't as good.

I can never understand how License to Kill isnt higher on these bad lists. The production value of that movie blows compared to other Bond films, mediocre characters and action etc.
On the flip side, I always have thought Living Daylights is way underrated. Solid complex plot, some great action scenes, great locations, but still avoids the moonraker over the top mess. And for me, the first two thirds of moonraker is great, the last third is ridiculous.
Spy Who loved Me is probably my favorite. It was the height of the megavillian before going cartoonish and still has all the other good bond stuff. Skyfall is likely the best movie, but it rehashes a few other bond films

i'm always amazed to think about Brosnan. i have this belief that he was great playing Bond. but, i can't say that I ever rewatch any of his movies.

Die Another Day is terrible and Brosnan was terrible in it. At that point they were just throwing crap against the wall and let children write the script. Brosnan just tried too hard in this one. He was so laid back in Goldeneye and from then on he just went downhill.

Moonraker was just trying to cash in on the Star Wars phenom. For Your Eyes Only was supposed to be the next one after The Spy Who Loved Me which is probably why is petered out at the end. They kind of threw it together.

Bollocks. OHMSS gets far too much unfair criticism simply because Connery wasn't in it. Compared to Die Another Day, A View To A Kill, Octo*****, or The World Is Not Enough, OHMSS is a ****ing masterpiece. And I'll stack my "real fan" credentials against anybody's, thanks very much.

Agreed. Lazenby is no genius actor, but that was a solid Bond film with a fantastic Bond girl. View to a Kill was terrible (listen to the How Did This Get Made episode on it) and Die Another Day was terrible. Brosnan made one very good Bond film, two meh-to-bad Bond films, and one absolute dog. Moore made more Bond films that I have no interest in rewatching than the rest of them combined.

I thought Brosnan was a good Bond. You can't blame the ****ty movies on him, he was doing the best he could with the script he had. He was fantastic in Goldeneye.

Aside: Does Goldeneye have the best villains? Trevelyan and Xenia are classic.

Brosnan's last two were atrocious (World is Not Enough and Die Another Day). Like BES mentioned, I think Brosnan himself made a good Bond, but he got stuck with some really ****** movies.

I think Roger Moore is very underrated, he had several good Bond movies:

Live and Let Die
The Man with the Golden Gun
The Spy Who Loved Me
Octu*****

These movies were definitely cheesy, but in a classic vintage Bond kind of way.

Rank the Bonds (not movies, but guys playing Bond the character in terms of how they handled the role).

I'm going with:
1. Connery
2. Brosnan
3. Moore
4. Craig
5. Dalton
6. Lazenby

Agreed and like I said, its a special hate for Lazenby. And his chin. and the kilt. Place any other Bond actor in there and I'd be very happy with the film. Diana Rigg is still one of the best Bond girls
