Based on the reception at Sundance earlier this year, this is apparently not only the current front-runner for Best Picture, but there's tons of talk for Casey Affleck as Best Actor as well. We still of course have a long way to go, and I don't know that it looks that special, but I think it's safe to say that this will definitely at least be in the conversation.

Manchester by the Sea hits theaters in limited release on November 18.

Casey is underrated. I will see a movie solely based on the fact that he is in it.

Love that he was nominated for his role in Assassination of Jesse James (one of my favorite performances ever), but that was a tough draw against Javier Bardem in NCFOM.

he's great in pretty much everything he does.

Maybe it's because my brother has young kids, and I don't have any of my own, but that looks very special to me.

Jesse James is awesome.

Another good Affleck indie is Ain't Them Bodies Saints. Beautifully shot movie and worth a watch. Plus it has Rooney Mara who is in line to be my third or fourth wife (I haven't decided yet).

Looks like this covers most of the movie.

He's a seriously underrated actor. The Affleck Bros did a phenomenal job with Gone Baby Gone.

I couldn't make it through Jesse James. Ugh.

I've shown Jesse James in my History of Murder class. An excellent insight into how people viewed celebrity and death at the end of the 19th century.

I feel as if I'm supposed to like this, but I just can't seem to care.
