Just finished season three after binge watching all three seasons the past couple weeks. My only complaint about the show is that the seasons are only 8 eps long.
With their accents, and so much going on, it is tough to figure out what's going at times (particularly season 3).
The priest was section 'D' or 'The Economic League'. He clears that up when he's telling Tommy where the loot will go in the car after he took his son.
The scene with Alfie Solomon was freaking awesome...but I still dont understand Tommy's response. Alfie makes a compelling case that Tommy's hate is hypocritical. But at the same time, even though Alfie didnt know Tommy's son was taken, he was still the one that stabbed Tommy in the back (again), and put into motion the events that resulted in his son being stolen. This is twice Alfie has completely burned the Shelbys. That relationship needs to be resolved at some point....hopefully a long way down the line, because I really like Alfie.
This episode had so many intense moments. The 2 minutes where Tommy is tunneling again, in a panic to save his son, racing against the clock, the priest being killed....and then being 10 seconds too late to save the train. That couldnt have been done better. And it all followed the intense talks he had with the family.
The final scene was awesome as well. The way they triumphantly all marched into the office, only to be told that they were going to be sacrificial lambs (albeit seemingly temporarily). Reminded me of Michael Corleone's speech about the struggle of trying to take the family legit...the more he struggles to get them out of crime, the deeper they seem to get.
Part of me hopes that season 4 sees Arthur stick around, but also refuse to be what he once was. It'll be interesting to see how quickly Tommy is able to repair the relationships he's damaged.
