SIAP - I couldn't find another thread beyond the canceling.

I've enjoyed moments of this season but it's time for some immediate action to occur.

One of the best shows on tv and no one watches. Its already been canceled but will finish out the season. Hopefully the negotiations with amazon and netflix go well so it can be continued.

Loved the first two seasons, and while I'm still enjoying this season, it seems to be a step back. I mentioned this on the other thread, but it seems like they are struggling a bit now that they can't put Will and Hannibal in the same scenes. The timeline is also a little squirrelly.

i did like that they are bringing Verger into the mix now, although Dr Chilton's "resurrection" is a little goofy. Seems like at least part of his medula oblongata should have been spattered on the interview room wall.

The return of Dr. Chilton was hard for me to accept. Every main character, sans one, survived death by some miraculous measure. It seems forced.

I do enjoy the inclusion of Verger and the conflict he's about to bring.

Episode 5 was a mixed bag.

The most interesting character was Pazzi and they ended his arc in less than an hour.

The ending felt contrived - Jack appearing at the perfect time after Alana calling at the perfect time.

Will Graham's dialogue felt rough. I don't think any new character revelation occurred to make it worth the time it received. I wasn't too surprised or connected to the push from the train.

On a positive, Fishburne did excellent during the dinner scene and Hannibal describing Pazzi's ancestor's death was playfully wicked.

I'm too invested to drop out but I'm still waiting for this season to deliver. As of now, I kind of wish they would have singularly focused on Hannibal's new life in Florence, like episode 1. I think the writers are having difficulty merging the quality they want with the wide span of storylines they've created.

Schrute Farms... I agree. I'm too invested in this now to quit, but with it dragging and now knowing its been cancelled, its a little rough some times.

Let me just say, I had a hard time with the fight scene between Crawford and Hannibal. Here's why:
1) Fishburne almost went Morpheus on Hannibal when he was standing over him in his kung-fu stance. I expected Hannibal to jump up and hop around saying he knows kung-fu now.
2) Crawford knows how squirly Hannibal is, but he decided to fight him instead of finish him off... come on man, you should be smarter than that.
3) I have read the books and seen the movies, I know both of these guys will survive...

Point 3 being said above, is the Rinaldo Pazzi story line the first time where the tv series doesn't fit with the movies or the book? In the movie Hannibal (which takes place after SOTL and he is on the run), Rinaldo Pazzi was the detective in Florence. Now we are before Red Dragon and SOTL, and we see Hannibal in Florence with Rinaldo Pazzi. The basically pulled the entire Pazzi storyline from Hannibal and brought it up in time to before Red Dragon. I thought the intent was to have the series end with it leading up to Red Dragon, but they seem to be changing things up a bit. Am I missing something or wrong?

Yeah, they're doing something odd with the timeline. I may be incorrect, but I believe MGM blocked the rights to Clarice Starling and SOTL material. This, coupled with the pressure of cancellation, caused them to merge Seasons 3 and 4 into this season. One year ago, Pazzi was not a character revealed for Season 3. We're supposedly going to receive a mid-season finale followed by a half season with the Red Dragon storyline.

Also, I completely agree with the Jack Crawford fight. Haha, he really was turning into Morpheus!

That still surprises me. Really, you don't even need to bring Clarice into the picture. Just lead us up to the part where he is caught and thrown in jail. Maybe as more of this season is aired, it will start to make sense.

I read something the other day that said everyone was let go from their contract, so even if they could find a way to do a season 4 (Amazon possibly), they might have problems getting back all the actors.

I have a feeling we may be left with a gap between the tv show ending, and when Red Dragon picks up.

That ending to episode 6....that was a crazy 60 seconds.

I'm watching it now. This is a show I really have to limit to when the kids are not around.

Good line was just uttered.... "You dropped your forgiveness, Will". <handing him the knife>

Ok. Another WTF episode for me. Everything is typical stretch it out time waste right up until the end, then "bam". The last 60 seconds. I really wish they would keep the storyline intact, but I guess this will keep us on our toes.
For part 1 of the last minute, I guess that is something that will heal (said with a bit of sarcasm)
For part 2 of the last minute, I guess next week we get a small flashback to explain. That makes things really interesting though.

Haha, completely understand! Especially with the Margot/Alana scene thrown in this episode. That seemed like a big stretch for network television.

The forgiveness line is the type of word play that makes the Hannibal/Will encounters worth the watch.

WTF was my exact response as well.

I don't know...there's a lot to digest. I honestly don't know where Fuller is going with the television v. book material. The disjointed timeline is cool in moderation but I really wish they would go back to a normal story sequence.

Hahaha to the, "something that will heal" commentary. If there's an easy "fix" to that scene, I'll feel cheated. No more "he cut you just right" or "it was just a hallucination" devices. There needs to be a legitimate consequence to someone taking a power tool to the head.

I loved the Bedilia/Hannibal "goodbye" scene. Enjoyed Mason's preparation for Hannibal. Didn't understand how Jack fell for the "under the table" trick after last episode's beat down. Not into Chiyoh's character yet - she feels more like a convenience to extend the storyline but HAS to be a part of the final scenes since she was in the same building. Not understanding the amount of time dedicated to the Alana/Margot love scene - do like the trap they're setting for both Hannibal and Mason. Loved the drawing Hannibal was creating with Will and Bedilia as the focal points.

Overall, I'll be back for the next episode.

How many times is Will going to get stabbed, shot, and the overall **** beaten out of him in this series? Cracks me up. Go ahead and throw in Jack now for that matter.

There is one thing I learned from this episode, and it is that PornHub could use a kaleidoscope category.

No kidding, the kaleidoscope "friendship" scene was way out of no where. Her character has really changed this season.
And yes, Will is kind of a bad-a$$. Stabbed, gutted, jailed, shot, dumped, thrown of a train, brain nearly extracted... Let's start a pool to see what happens next to the poor guy.
Stampeded by pigs?
Crushed in a lesbian wrestling match?
Stabbed with a turkey Baster?

Oh, the Chiyoh chic. Think that is her name. She wasn't in the book was she. I'm trying to remember, but in the book didn't they talk about Hannibal and his sister in their youth and the event that basically made Hannibal who he is... She wasn't in the book was she?

Yeah, the Dr Bloom character went from a gullible goodytwoshoes to an evil hot mess. For that matter, every female on the show is a nutball - Bloom, Bedelia, Verger, and Chiyoh.

Actually, pretty much everyone on the show is nuts. It's been a bit extreme.
DannyDuberstein

She's supposed to be sort of an equivalent of Lady Murasaki from Hannibal Rising. But they wanted a younger actress/character and Murasaki was basically his aunt, so they created Chiyoh to sort of tie in that portion of the story.

I'll go ahead and throw out two possibilities:

1. He wakes up in the hospital next episode and we find out everything was just a hallucination
2. Pazzi inexplicably returns from the dead, aligns with Dr. Chilton, and creates a royal rumble at the Verger farm.

On a different note, we should have Dolarhyde and Molly entering the story soon.

I had completely forgotten about Hannibal Rising (the movie). I wasn't that impressed by it I guess.

I thought the original intent was to lead up to Red Dragon, and that ends the tv series. But reading recently (as you already know), I learned they plan on going into Red Dragon and that there will be a flash forward. I would guess the flash forward has to be in the next two episodes. Maybe one episode at Vergers farm, then the flash forward.

What woman is nuts enough to marry Will. He might be a good guy, but has a few screws loose. That and he is a disaster magnet.

Oh, and I have another theory. Will and Hannibal are trying to recreate the lesbian scene from last episode and Will falls off the bed and breaks his index finger. Pretty minor injury, but the shock value is that there was actually no blood for once.

I think Hannibal has a kaleidoscope scene with Will and sodomizes Will with the knife strap-on from Seven (pic link below). We think Will is finally dead, only to learn that Hannibal smelled that Will had colon cancer (like he did with Jack's wife) and craftily removed the tumor with this thing. Will recovers and his pursuit of Hannibal continues.

Glad to hear this. I haven't gotten to it yet. With True Detective on tonight, I might not get to see this until tomorrow. I think Hannibal and True Detective are the only things I'm watching this summer (... that and catching up on 'Veep' after I somehow missed out on that after 4 seasons).

Ok. I got to see it. A few random comments:
Good episode.
Finally got him. Still not sure why he gave up though.
Don't understand Wills infatuation with Hannibal, but then again I'm not nuts.
Good to see they could get some new types of crazy into this episode.
I thought she shot Hannibal when he was carrying Will across the field at the end. Not sure why else he fell.
I got very little of the conversation at the end on the porch with Hannibal and the chic. Too lazy to go back and watch it again.

Good episode and looking forward to Red Dragon which appears to start next week.

The writing seems a little loose with Hannibal's motivation to turn himself in. We're supposed to believe that Will has finally let him go (ie won't chase him), yet Hannibal craves that connection so much that he'll turn himself in order to keep the relationship going. But on the flipside, Hannibal seemed resigned that he had to eat Will and was in the process of doing so when interrupted by Verger's men. It's a bit difficult to reconcile.
Schrute Farms
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah, I saw a lot of holes but decided to suspend any questioning due to the previous six episodes.

I'm assuming Hannibal surrendered in order to exert control over Will & Co. He allowed Bedilia to define their final encounter - I don't think his personality will allow Will to do the same. Also, it ironically places him back in control over the entire central cast.

Looking back over the 1/2 season story arc, I would have preferred one less Florence episode and an additional episode at Muskrat farm. The show works best with an ensemble cast and struggles most when it's just Will + 1-2 other characters. Muskrat needed more than 45 minutes to really deliver.

Red Dragon story line seems promising. It looks like their going back to they S1-2 format.

I agree. It looks like they will follow the season 1 theme where he projects himself into the crime scene, this is my design whole thing. This is a complete 180 from the first half of this season. I wonder if they had another 2 seasons would they have redone Silence of The Lambs and then eventually had him escape and come up with some new story line after he is out running around.

Red Dragon storyline is killing it. I just watched the last two episodes back-to-back and loved the tension. It's good to see the show back on track.

THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a freaking fantastic ending to the season and to the show.

Watch the credits!!!!!!!

It is a shame this show was not picked up by any other network, but I guess with "Silence of the Lambs" next, it is as good a place as any to quit.

The last 10 minutes are just incredible.
