And yet, the man continues to get paid. As teen films, Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison and The Waterboy were good for what they were. Somehow, I think Sandler thinks that he is Judd Apatow without realizing just how far behind he is.

That's my point. He produces such complete trash and it is getting gobbled up.

Seth Rogan gets paid. Adam Sandler can afford his own island.

And I doubt he thinks he is Judd Apatow, or even that his own movies are any good. He just knows how to make money off the lowest common denominator.

In all fairness, Grandma's Boy was hilarious.

The rest of the lower scoring movies are garbage though...

Pixels will do $200M+.

I enjoyed That's My Boy, Just Go With It, Zohan, and Click.

Most everything else after Anger Management has been trash.

His movies suck but I don't blame the guy for making movies that he can probably sleepwalk through while getting paid millions to do it. We should all be that lucky.

It's hard to hate on someone who is uber successful, does what he loves, and set up all his friends with jobs and gets to work with them every day. And it's not like you have to watch them.

It is easy to hate on him for the garbage he puts out, but spot on for the rest of your comment.

By the way, I do think good for him. He is minting money doing something he likes doing.

His kids work as spotters. Or did. Met Dave years ago as a student and he was great. He is a class act. He has his flaws but I have a ton of respect for him.

No I get it. There are $200MM worth of morons who like to eat really expensive buttered popcorn in the dark. That's a whole lot of stupid people. Fortunately I don't know any of them.

Let's revise to say he makes and acts in movies that do not get a lot of regontion from the academy.

I'd argue the average mind set American likes his movies.

I wonder what our parents, 40 something's and 30 something's said about Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore when it came out? I bet they thought it was just as dumb and obnoxious as these recent films. Sadler has been doing this for his whole career. We're getting older and his movies are speaking to the same age /MM

I throw him some cash every now and then, and know exactly what to expect from a movie he's involved in -- dumb it down with some cheesy feel good story and same crew of misfits.

I didn't know a lot about the hate from the liberals until reading this recently. If we want to go see a movie and there is nothing out there but ****, then I'll pay for his **** and feel fine about it later.

Oh the horror, stereotyping Indians!!

Watched The Wedding Singer the ither day. An all-time great comedy that is as funny today as when it was made.

I've long expected him to do a movie with a great director and floor everyone. He can definitely generate some emotions, like in Click and Spanglish and Punch Drunk Love. May not happen now, though.

Punch Drunk Love and Reign Over Me showed he has some decent acting ability when he wants to, I just don't think he gives a **** about that.
