John Nash and his wife Alicia passed away in a traffic accident riding in a cab in New Jesey.

A Beautiful Mind is one of my favorite movies and I even learned about his equilibrium in college. It's sad that they passed away just because of a traffic accident.

Definitely very sad. A Beautiful Mind is also one of my favorite movies and I also learned about the Nash Equilibrium during my MBA program.

While sad, they passed away because they didn't wear a seatbelt.

I don't know anyone that wears a seatbelt in a cab. Do they have them?

I wear them in cabs regularly. Ever since the host of Double Dare had his face smashed in.

I've been sporting them ever since a cabbie in Chicago got me from the airport to downtown in about 8.6 seconds about 15 years ago, which at one point included crossing 5 lanes to get to an exit while narrowly missing a guardrail doing about 90. I'm in NYC frequently for work, and almost always click. I just don't care to have my face bounce off the glass/tv screen/credit card machine in front of me.

I also found out his dad was an Ag engineer. See the zoo for proof.

I have been in 3 accidents in my life. All minor but two were with "professional" drivers (cab in LA and Towncar in NY). I always click it.

I finished the biography that A Beautiful Mind the movie is (very loosely) based upon a week or two ago. I actually assumed he had already passed away.
