Reminds me of a modern day "The Village" which means I might skip it.

I've read the books. I won't give any spoilers, but I will say it was unexpected for me, and I'm usually very good and figuring out these kinds of things.

Read all three books.


Holy **** it is probably the biggest turn about/twist I have ever seen in terms of a story starting out one way and ending another.

The last book kind of dragged but that is because it honestly could have been done in about 10 extra chapters of the second book. They were really fun though and the first 2 were great.

Definitely just the first book. No way they cover the second book this season

I actually listened to the 3rd book (and only the 3rd book). Audible recommended it for me and I was driving to Chicago last summer and it was a good fit time wise, so I downloaded it. I had NO idea it was part of a series and spent the first 3 hours utterly confused. When I finally stopped and was able to Google it and realized it was the last book in a series, it was already too late as the big twist had been spoiled, so I didn't want to go back and start book 1. I figured screw it and just finished listening to book 3. Glad they are making a tv show because I will probably watch it for the backstory (though I figured out the jist of it). Anyway, very cool twist and I wish I hadn't been such an idiot to spoil it for myself. Learned my lesson about blindly going with audible recs.

Oh man that must have been hard. There is a lot of backstory in the other two books and it is still a hell of a ride.

Yes, I was completely lost. I kept thinking, I guess they are going to explain all of this later in the book. Finally when I couldn't take it anymore I had to Google it. After that it wasnt all that bad because Wikipedia does an adequate job of at least explaining significant plot points. I definitely would NOT recommend anyone else to go that route. I felt like a total dumbass when I realized what I had done.

Finished book one. Seems a bit much to stretch all that into 10 episodes.

At this rate...aliens by book 2.

Good to hear. I didn't have a chance to watch it last night but will catch up this weekend or next.

If this is just about the first book, they look like they've blown through half of it already. Am I to guess they're going to be putting in a bunch of filler in between? Or do I need to hurry up and read the rest of the books?

I would guess they would put a bunch of filler in but I really have no idea.

I feel like this could get repetitive in a hurry.

I'll keep watching but I'm pretty meh on this so far. Seems pretty ridiculous that the mob rallied so quickly and vehemently. And most of them were cheering at the end result? Just felt off.

Oh, and the sheriff ice cream thing is dumb.
