The original Friday Night Lights is pretty damn great. But yeah, there needs to be a classic set in the NFL.

The Program is a decent sports movie but not an all time great like Rocky, Raging Bull, Hoosiers, Pride of the Yankees, etc. You don't even see it on tv any more because most people think it sucks. Brian's Song is a really good movie, but I still wouldn't put it on the level of those other movies. I'm not sure about Friday Night Lights. The tv series is better than the movie.

agree there are no all time great football movies. Rudy probably has the
biggest appeal and comes closest but they Hollywooded the ending and that kinda
ruined it for me.

I guess that's what I was going for. Football is my favorite sport, really the only one I pay attention to anymore, yet if I were to make a top 10 sports movie list, a football movie wouldn't even make the list.

Yeah the football parts of most good football movies suck, if that makes sense.

I enjoyed the football scenes in The Ladykillers, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and Dark Knight Rises.

Mighty Ducks 1 and 2 are freaking masterpieces.

He was better than Dorn and his ol move, that's for sure.

His throwing motion and swing. His ability to get in batter's heads was legend, but he couldn't pull off "ball player".

He looked like a hall of famer compared to the old pitcher Harris.
