I believe this story line is fully wrapped up. It will be new characters and a new story. The only constant is that it will be Cornell investigating the crime.

My thoughts: you can presume Cornell puts the girl away. She always gets her person - even put her daughter away. Also, it does sound like Ben is dead. I wonder if he was killed in prison for being a "child killer" or maybe he took his own life after a while realizing Abby was a monster.
