There is no way she doesn't know, but I doubt she has any evidence. Same with Russo.

Best comment I saw about the season finale- "So, who gets custody of Meechum?"

That was a crazy story arc. It's like Doug required all this love, attention, and affection from his brother, in order to rehab back into the stone cold murderer that he is.

Can someone help me remember the whole Rachel/Doug story?

She was an escort that was used by Russo, and Frank and Doug used her to bring him down.

So then she went into hiding basically with Doug always checking on her? What exactly was going on with that? And was Doug taking her to be killed when she hit him over the head in the woods?

So was Doug actually in love/infatuated with her? Or were his freakouts and falling off the wagon due to the fact he knew she was alive and it meant he had failed Frank? Combination of both?

Was the killing of her personal or because Frank ordered it? I guess Frank did at some point since he asked Doug if it was done...

Just trying to recollect, if anyone can help. Thanks.

You've got most of it but here are a few more details.

Stamper started getting infatuated with her because she reminded him of his mother (creepy). He would have her read books to him that his mother used to read to him.

Then Rachel started going to a non-denominational church at the community center. She met that girl Lisa, and they fell in love. Stamper disapproved for several reasons. He said it was because someone might recognize her, and they couldn't risk it, but it was really because he was in love with her.

After he realized Rachel had had Lisa over (he saw them having sex through the window) he told Rachel he was moving her away again, that's when Rachel smacked him with the rock and ran away.

So yes, he was infatuated, but he was also feeling like he let Frank down.

I don't Frank expressly ordered Doug to kill her, but it was implicit. Like, "you need to take care of this, wink." In fact Frank believed she was already dead, because of the Jane Doe photos. So it would be extremely bad for Doug if she ever resurfaced.

Hopefully that helps.

Too bad Doug burned the only evidence of Claire's abortion. She has tons of dirt on him, and he has no dirt on her. At least, no dirt that Claire's adoring public will actually believe she was involved in. I can't wait for the downfall. Frank was kind of funny in season one when he was just exacting his revenge for not being secretary of state. When he killed Russo, I guess I thought it was a one time deal. After season 3, I just hate him and will enjoy every minute of the downfall.

My bold predictions:

Frank reconciles with Claire by making her his VP running mate (which is absolutely ridiculous but a lot of stuff on this show is so deal with it)

They win the Presidency

Claire kills Frank (makes it look accidental of course)

All hail President Claire Underwood...

The whole Doug/Rachel thing this season was a complete and utter waste of time. Was no threat from that story point.

Pour one out for Rachael's glorious breasts.

And yes, I think Claire becomes POTUS somehow. I kinda hope this show doesn't drag on more than 4 seasons. Not really much further the story can go after reaching the presidency... assuming we see Frank's fall in Season 4.

As someone pointed out before, a deck contains 52 cards, 4 suits of 13. Each HoC season has 13 episodes, so one more season would be a nice, logical way to wrap this up.

I just realized that Claire just became Nora.

This season was an extra murdery version of A Doll's House by Ibsen..with less good intentions

The scene in the Oval with Claire and Frank in Ep 13 had some incredible acting (even for this series).

Loved Frank telling her off at the end.

Maybe it's just because I'm a guy but Claire was a whiny B the entire season.

Asks for UN. Gets referral SCREWS hearing. Asks for flat out appointment. Gets it. Mouths off and SCREWS up the Russia deal. Goes to Frank about Russians killing their own. SCREWS Frank when it's the wrong decision.

She just complained the entire season. Frank was dead on with this speech. She's can't have it both ways. Everything she asked for she got, screwed up, and STILL complained.

The thing is Claire is acting pretty rationally and even, you might say, admirably. It's just that she's decided to have this change of heart at the worst possible time for Frank.

She's completely in the right about the gay guy in the Russian prison. It's just a terrible strategic move. But even the show mentions how it improved her popularity in the polls the day after.

Some are saying she is acting out of character, but I disagree. We've always seen that Claire seems to care about what people think about her. She does these ruthless things but then the fallout seems to affect her (unlike Frank). Think back to season 1 when she has the office manager layoff a ton of people and then she in turn lays her off. The older lady goes off on her, and Claire seems pretty shaken.

Then there's that scene in the graveyard where she is jogging and the old lady screams at her for showing no respect. Again, Claire seems completely shaken by it.

There are numerous other incidents where we see that Claire is not fully on board. Her pregnant staffer who she lets go. The rapist admiral.

But yeh, because of the way she turns on Frank when it is least convenient, I can see why some might now hate her, but I kind of see both sides. Let's not forget Frank is a villain, and if Claire is now working against him, that's probably for the best.

There are literally only 2 characters left living that aren't villains.

Gavin and Remy.

I hope they team up and take everyone down.

So for some reason I really though this was the final season of the show. I was so confused in the last episode at how they were going to tie it up all the way until the end.

A lot of mistakes and failures from both the Underwoods this season.

Doug brought that up to Frank, too, and was interesting to think how much of that would have been averted had Doug and not Remy been the Chief of Staff.

And is Seth a villain?

I kind of feel like the President making a recess appointment of the First Lady to be Ambassador after having her voted down on a traditional appointment was a jumping the shark moment. Especially since a First Lady can act as sort of a defacto ambassador. You know Hillary was meeting with other leaders in the 90s.

I was largely disappointed in season 3.
