Cloud Nothings - Here and Nowhere Else



Lots of rumblings about being an "Album of the Year" candidate. Loved my first run through. It's short; maybe 40 minutes long. Sounds like an album that could have been at home on the High Fidelity soundtrack, if that means anything to you.

I like it. If you are into his stuff and/or "Lo-Fi" rock, it is worth a listen. The track "Passing Out Pieces" is probably my favorite on the album.

I was slow to CtR - "Acid Rap". Mostly because the internet freaked out when it dropped (...problems of a contrarian...) but it really is very good; ended up being one of my favorite albums of the year.

Anyone like piano driver rock/pop?

Barcelona put out a series of EP's with an umbrella title of Melodrama. Each song is about the successes and struggles of love. They replaced their basic piano with an electronic element that they haven't used before.

They released an album I missed in 2014 Q1. I checked them out in advance of their appearance at Edgefest in DFW, and they've got a pretty interesting sound. I was only familiar with the song "Agora" that I wasn't a huge fan of, but the album is actually pretty cool. It's like Lo-Fi new wave punk with just a little bit of that "Matt & Kim" sound. God that sounds terrible... just give it a shot.
