Dr. Dog released "B-Room" on October 1.

This is the first album in the psych-pop/folk genre I've dipped in to in a while that actually manages to achieve a newer sound. And that's a good thing. Something fundamentally R&B and 60s rock about it as well.

Very cool stuff so far. A couple of misses. It's not album of the year or anything, but worth the check out for sure.

In case you were wondering, this RJD2 album is pretty legit. Well worth the listen. This track with P.Blackk ("Bathwater") is really nice.

Damn. Childish switches up the flow about 10 times. He's really getting better (although he was always good). He has stepped it up, replacing his lil Wayne impression with an Earl Sweatshirt impression, which is infinitely better.

Love me some Childish. I am still confused as hell as to what all the Roscoe's Wetsuit twitter ish was all about. I thought it would be the new album title but clearly now that's not the case.

Lots of gold on here so far, but I'm an unabashed fan. "Part From Me" was great live, but the album version is pretty remarkable. Personally, I think these guys are the best song writers in the business at the moment.

quote:
And most of us out there got fooled
Cause the gold it glittered in the night
And we chased it fast like drunk buffoons
The banker lived the artist died

And all our clothes were washed in gray
All our buildings and our cars
As the fluorescent light of day
Bleached the sky into the stars

My goodness. I had a clever post all queued up about how this song by Feist and Ben Gibbard is almost good enough to make up for the travesty of "Fireflies."

And of course, I had to re-listen to "Fireflies" to make sure I was right, only to find out that Gibbard didn't do that song. It was a band called Owl City, who'd lead singer is clearly doing a Ben Gibbard/The Postal Service impersonation.

I think I owe that dude Gibbard an apology if our paths ever cross.

For my Dallas people...

I have two GA tickets to the Jessie Ware show this Thursday at the Southside Music Hall. I cannot make it over from Fort Worth in time for the show.

If any one wants them, send me a PM or post here. I paid $50 ish for the pair but will let them go for much, much less than that.

Tickets have not been printed are able to be transferred online.

Haha. I didn't even have to click the link to know exactly what it was. And you're dead on, unbelievable skills, terrible beat and hook.
