Y'know, I was a giant Nolan fan until TDKR. I thought it was going to be EPIC, but all it was was a bloated clunker. Disappointing end to a trilogy. Maybe he can redeem himself with the new Superman movie and by taking up the next Bond.

Nolan has Interstellar keeping him busy 'til late 2014. Next Bond will likely be filming during that time and won't be out 'til 2015-ish. Craig has two Bond movies left. I could see Nolan possibly directing Craig's final turn - as the schedules will likely align - but my guess is that he does the "reboot" with a new actor instead, in order to have the freedom to really put his stamp on it.

On a side note, I'd really like to see a black actor as Bond when the reigns are handed over. Think it's time to mix it up that way. I know Idris Elba's name has been thrown around a lot, but he might be a bit too old come 2019/2020. Any other ideas?

refn is a strange one. bronson was great, valhalla rising sucked, and drive was great (score made the movie though). i think his latest movie was actually booed at cannes. the guy is way too into graphic violence for what looks like a love of brutality.

edit: the only bond who would be of the right age and fit to me would be henry cavill. maybe someone else will emerge in the next few years. maybe tom hardy. if you expanded beyond the uk that would open up some possibilities. michael fassbender would be my first pick.

I just hope the next one is more in the vein of Casino Royale than Skyfall, which felt like a TDK wanna-be to me.

Valhalla Rising was great, IMO. I enjoyed it more than Drive personally. Rising stuck with me, it was one of those movies that really made me think.

I agree that Refn is hit-or-miss. I thought Drive was GENIUS but Valhallah sucked hard from the moment they got on the boat. And I say that as someone who appreciates weird **** - I'm one of those few lost souls who prefers Thin Red Line to Private Ryan...

I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in being massively disappointed by TDKR. Bloated clunker is right on the money. The reboot was the best by far; they went downhill after that. Similarly, (though the directors changed) the latter two Craig Bond flicks haven't been NEARLY as good as Casino, though Skyfall was clearly better than Quantum.

Rumour I heard is that he is on board from 24 and 25. I almost feel like they will have to shoot these at the same time or with a very short break. Craig is 45 and he has talked a lot about how physically demanding the role is and that it takes him at least 4-6 months to prepare himself for filming.


If 24 comes out in 2014-2015, craig will be 47 or so, I just cant imagine releasing 24 and then waiting another 6 months to a year to start shooting the next one. Connery was 51 or 52 I think when they filmed Never say Never but those films were not nearly as physical as the current releases have been

Boo. Too much like Skyfall already, and the former-agent-goes-rogue-for-revenge is already a tired cliché anyway. Even Goldeneye and the Casino Royale spoof have some similarities with that suggestion. Need something more original.

Isn't that plot the same as the Jason Bourne books/movies except with various aged Bonds?
