Then I would politely suggest you aren't doing it right. I like Chicago as well, it just isn't as vibrant. NYC, Hong Kong, Chicago in that order. Paris and London are right there too.

This! I love visiting NYC, but after a few days, I'm ready to leave. Don't know what it is about it, but I just can't seem to really relax when I go there. Chicago is a different story. It's a busy city as you'd expect, but a very short train ride and you're in a unique neighborhood with a lot of character. I know NYC has it's own neighborhoods within it, but it all just feels like NY. I can't quite put my finger on why one drives me crazy and another I'd like to live in (minus their chitty gun laws). Maybe it's the elitist east coast vs. blue collar midwest. I dunno.
