No one 'loves' AT&T so saying the sips are comparable to Ma Bell is wrong on its face if thats what he considers the real linchpin. I think it'd be hard to compare anyone to them, IMHO, because I can't look at AT&T outside of its historical context as a serial crony-style monopolist that eventually gobbled up the baby bells back up. I think maybe Notre Dame would be the best (but still bad) fit due to their nationwide influence and privilege (which the sips don't have, much to ESPN's dismay).
