Nice headline, but this statement is not true. My son was born in 1998 and is a high school senior this year (2017). Thus, the Class of 2018 will have kids born in 1999 in it and that will be the last high school class with kids born in the 90s.

Of course there'll be older kids, but I'm sure whoever came up with the headline is going by the average birth year, which will be 1999 this year, not 1998.

I graduated at 17, just a couple weeks before my 18th birthday in June. The older kids born in Sep-Dec were born in 1987, but the "average" birth year for my graduating class would be 1988.
