Jimmy Vaughan, Joe James Cotton (edit I know better) , and Steve Miller were damned good, too.

Was fun seeing 80 year old Joe James Cotton and Jimmy just dominate the first half hour of the Steve Miller show. Steve invited them out onstage and took a back seat for at least 30 minutes, while they all played the blues.

Once Joe James and Jimmy left the stage, Steve pretty much reverted to playing a bunch of his B side music over the next hour or so. It was not the stock 2 hours of "I'm gonna play every hit that I have", and it was of his best performances that I have seen, and I've seen him a lot.

Nonetheless, BHT&tM were just better. Spot on. Didn't get to play long enough. They also played stuff I've never heard, almost James McMurtry-like grunch guitar. Can't find it on an album, can't find it on youtube. He left us wanting more.

I had an elbow on the stage..he was changing guitars for every song. At one point midway in their 1 hour long set, he pulled out a seafoam green guitar of the like that I have never seen. Had to have been tuned in Open G. Worked it like it stole something. I've seen a lot of guitar playing in my lolold years, but when I heard him play that jam, he wasn't stealing from McMurtry, but I heard the same chords as in Choctaw Bingo and Bayou Tortous, but it was all harder, and angrier.

**** it was good, and I have no idea what the name of that song/jam was...it went on for a good 15 minutes w/very few lyrics.

I go to about 20 shows a year. So far this year I've seen Gary Clark Jr., Uli Jon Roth, Warren Haynes, Wolfmother, Grace Potter twice, Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience, and Sturgill Simpson. Have tickets for GNR, two Pearl Jam shows at Wrigley, Black Sabbath, and some others I can't remember. I'll probably go see Alice Cooper and I may fly to LA to see Temple of the Dog in November.

According to setlist.fm the Foos Moody show was almost two years ago and as I suspected Jimmie Vaughan played one song with them. Coincidentally, Gary Clark Jr. played three.

I don't live in Austin, so no I wasn't there. Show me some proof that he played the whole set with them. I showed you proof that he didn't. I'll be waiting.

Well since I'm not old as balls I didn't get to see the real deal live, unfortunately. But I saw Page/Plant together three times, Plant numerous time solo, and I even saw John Paul Jones play a solo show. Got to meet him afterwards, too.
