I get people playing, but people watching? Isn't one of the worst things watching someone else play a video game?
No. That too is the rage with the younger generation. I don't get it either, but it is very real.
It's weird, but objectively is not really different than playing chess on a professional level.

Which year? I beat my college roommate 20-3 with Ncaa 2004...he was Florida St. and I was Furman. I beat the same guy in NCAA 2006 56-10 when he was Texas and I was Ohio (not Ohio St.)

I certainly didn't have a problem with the scholarship aspect but in no way, shape, or form are these kids athletes.
Why are you people surprised? This is the sort of nonsense which happens when adults don't grow out of childish things like video games.
I agree they aren't athletes, but there is some physical skill involved with having extremely accurate fast twitch response. It's more mental though. And it's definitely not an athletic event.

It's not, if you don't like video games you don't watch them, if you don't like sports you don't watch them. It's the exact same thing.

I don't know what the prize was, but the wargaming league gradn finals where freaking HUGE this year, and they're expanding it to include world of warships, not just WOT
I don't watch them but kids under 12 or so usually watch more YouTube gaming streams than TV.
