I eat at Chisholm Trail almost every time I pass through Lockhart and always get pork ribs, two sides of fried squash and peaches.. Mmmmm!

I value your opinion, slicer. Which choice would you make?

I think your being sarcastic with your post and I believe pretty much the opposite of what you posted. I want sides and eating without a fork and on brown paper doesn't mean **** to me.

If you can't appreciate gnawing a hunk of dried shoeleather directly out of a trough I don't know how to help you.

I would hit Chisolm Trail followed by Black's.*

I prefer the flavor of the brisket at CT to Black's.

Everyone in Lockhart needs to run up to Elgin get some tips on sausage making though.

*It's been at least 3 years since I've eaten at CT and probably 6 or 7 since Black's, so things might have changed since then. Don't have a lot of need for Lockhart bbq since I live 25 minutes from Snow's.

ditto on the Lockhart choices. I've yet to hit Snow's but hear good things about it.

Luling City Market is my favorite out of the ones listed. Great brisket, sausage and beef ribs. Awesome sides. The best potato salad around.

However, if you want truly epic brisket and ribs, drive to Taylor and go to Louie Mueller's.

That Mexican guy on the side of the road off 183 with the barrel pit. I think his name is Pedro. Might be Juan or Juan Pedro. Low overhead and excellent bbq. Get there early cause he's usually drinking an he's a mean drunk. And whatever you do, don't bring up Trump.
