How about a way to reference posters in text.

For instance if I wanted to say, "I think [poster]MonkeyKnifeFighter[/poster] needs to learn that his f5 key isn't a drink coaster." That tag would notify MKF in his watchlist. It's kinda like the bat signal, but for forums.

Obviously they'd need to be a paying member to have this function.

How about making a star click redirect you to a login when you are logged out. Logging in would of course then redirect you back to where you where trying to click on the star.
