Yes. It's in between songs that you'll lose count of F-bombs. I'm a fan of the Foo Fighters, but if it's language you're worried about, I wouldn't take the 5th grader.

Really?They are like the Modern day Jethro Tull. I like them but I wouldn't consider them hard core.
I'd just sit down with the kid before the show and tell him that you're being a badass dad and if you hear him slip one f bomb after this moment he will have to listen to John Tesh til his ears bleed.

I say yes...my dad took me to a Kiss concert when I was 6 years old and it was exciting!!!!
He talked about how he would like to **** a chick up the ass at the concert I went to. Doesn't offend me, but when your kid says something similar at school to his friends, have fun explaining it to the principal or parents.
My first concert was the Oak Ridge Boys and look how I turned out.
In that ^ video Dave lets a fan play drums, but you get a feel for how Dave talks in between songs at the beginning of the video.

I know a dude that took his 12 year old son to a pink Floyd concert at rice stadium about 15 years ago and he found out after getting home his son had been passed a joint no less than 5 times from strangers while standing right next to him.

Absolutely take him. Will be a great show and a lifelong memory for both of you. he won't hear anything that he doesn't at school already.
