Broke up several months ago but remained friendly.

Planned a group vacation at the beach with mutual friends (almost all mine) before the breakup.

On day 2 (Monday) of said vacation, she gets drunk, and goes postal (I mean off the rails insane).

She's behaving so inappropriately that I have to leave the beach house, leaving her there with "our" friends.

Drove home 4 hours in the middle of the night.

I've decided I'll never speak to her again. Never before had to do this to an ex.

At the house she barges into my room crying, crawls in my bed. I ask her several times to leave. She won't, so I do.

She's following me everywhere being insane.

I have no choice but to leave entirely.

At this point only 7 of the planned 15 people are there. I managed to keep her craziness away from the group, but they knew something was going on.

Didn't want her to ruin everyone's vaca, so took one for the team.

All this entered into the calculus, and I won't blame anyone for being pissed at me.

She's already told everyone we "just had a misunderstanding" and doesn't understand why I left. She'll pretend like everything's fine and even be fun to be around for everyone else.

Fortunately, I was able to explain the whole thing to my two best friends who are arriving there today.

Keep getting texts from other not as close friends asking why I left. Don't want to sully their friendships with her, so just been telling them "it was best if I left."

I would have taken her home, but she refused.

I'm actually glad I didn't insist, because I was so pissed at that point that I might have slapped her.

I've always wondered how a man could hit a woman, but now I totally understand. I still think it's wrong and don't think I ever would, but I came close. Very close.
