When did you have your baby? I'm 33 weeks today. So far so good! I think I'll be happy to deliver around 38-39 weeks, but I know I don't get to pick. Any pre or post labor advice? Starting to get anxious and excited.

I can't have babies. I'm a dude. But be prepared for it to rip up your vagina.

Get the epidural
Take all of the drugs they offer
Remember that when you are exhausted from Nursing your baby when they decide to cluster feed, that it's only temporary.
Remember that you will sleep for longer than 2 hours again.
If you can survive the birth and the subsequent 6 weeks, everything else is easy.

Good luck!!

39 weeks, but c-section due to breech position. Have they discussed inducing early because of gestational (if you are on meds for it)?

I am on an oral nighttime med to control the morning sugars. I asked the specialist and he said the med alone was no reason to take baby early. She is already head down, so that's good. As far as I know there are no plans for a csection or to take her early. The next measurement is Tuesday and then probably one more after that to see how big she is. That may tell us more.

Good luck! They told me he was measuring big, and then he was only 5lbs. So if they say big, it's not necessarily true

This. Same happened to me with Crayola at 37 weeks. 3 weeks later, she was the size they estimated her to be at 37 weeks.

Y'all should've looked at the father's EPDs before getting knocked up. Low birth weight and 110th+ %tile yearling weights here.

37 weeks. Induction. It was awesome. Epidural was in about 30 minutes after Pit was started. I slept most of the labor. (My dr is very pro-epidural, no waiting. I barely got uncomfortable. I was also asking for it when I checked in)

Bring things to self medicate after birth. You know hospitals are *****es about actual pain control. Ibuprofen & a heat pad.

Bring at least one extinsion cord for phone/iPad chargers.

& yes, take all the meds they will give you.

First baby was 40w-1d and I had pre-e and in hospital for a week at 34 weeks then at home on bedrest remainder of time. I was bored and anxious to see him/her but trust me, induction hurts way more than natural labor because you are never in control.

Second child was 41 weeks as best we can estimate and I went into labor evening before they were going to induce...she weighed 9-11 so more than likely she was 2 weeks late. Great news was she started sleeping at night when she was 4 days old!!!

Third and final baby was totally 41 weeks and all laboring was at home. He arrived two hours after we got to hospital and was born in the labor room.

That baby will come out with minimal intervention UNLESS it is huge or abnormally positioned...relax!

39 weeks and 40 weeks. First one got the epidural early and was great but lots of pushing because I had no contractions just water breaking. Second one tons of contractions and my stupid nurse was an idiot. Finally got my damn epidural only for the doc to come in and tell me it was time. 2 pushes and that kid was out. I wanted to scratch the stupid nurse eyeballs out. I didn't have a problem with them not giving me pain meds with either. Just take the stool softener and don't stop when you get home.

born 1 day shy of due date. the doctor did the best thing ever though and told me i wouldn't have to baby on my due date and to be thinking about if i would prefer induction at 41 or 42 weeks. i think that really helped me not play mind games of anticipating anything because i really thought it would be a couple weeks before i would go into labor. i went into labor 2 days after he told me this information. men are smart.

Almost 41 weeks. Went in for the induction because my dr was going to be out of town that weekend. I'm glad I didn't wait any longer. Dr kept telling me the baby was about average 7/8 pounds. He ended up being 9 lbs 3 ounces. I'm scared to think what he would have been if he had stayed in much longer.
