What are your thoughts toward a grown man saying the following: "this whole argument I'm having with (another partner in firm) is manifesting itself physically. I'm just so stressed I have to go home."

This was about 2pm. This guy has been leaving early everyday this week for one reason or another.

I'm an associate. When I have to cut his YouTube watching short because I have work to do, he makes a comment along the lines of "omg aren't you important."

He called me to the carpet the other day because I turned down an invitation to discuss the NFL Draft so that I can work on an assignment for another partner. His words, "when a partner calls you, you never say 'not now'. That looks real bad"

My response: "as a partner you should appreciate billable hours"

Here is the kicker. Homeboy is trying to take credit for some of my clients because I'm the associate and he is the partner. It isn't appropriate to have an associate manage clients. Had it not been for my relationships and efforts, these clients wouldn't exist.

The issue is that you have a good job and have to be PC. If you worked a ****ty construction job you could call this guy a queer and punch him in the face.

Life sucks and it is what it is. Sounds like he's given up though. If you don't have the conviction to leave, ride it out, people like that get exposed over time.

He's been interviewing. He thinks he is taking our group with him. Problem is, none of us are willing to follow. We think he has given up too but that just means we have to pick up the slack. We don't mind doing so but he gets posses when a decision is made without him.
