off shoot from other thread.

I personally prefer to put some spicy taco sauce on them, but occasionally eat with chili on top.

I've been told chili topped tamales is a gringo thing.
But i know hispanics/mexicans who eat th with ketchup.

How do you eat yours?
a. With nothing
b. With salsa/hot sauce
c. With chili

Grew up with the family eating ketchup on them. I still like them that way but the wife's family thinks we're nuts for doing that. They eat them with salsa on top.

One of the things I've discovered since living in Texas is tamales. Took some home to Chicago a few years ago and when I go home now, I'm barraged with requests for them before I leave.

Tamale taco - Char grill a corn tortillia , roll tomalle inside , hit with some Franks Red Hot and lime juice - Add whatever else you want from salsa , jalapeos , pico , scrabled eggs , etc - Dang fine !
