A lack of self worth for not doing something they probably realize they couldnt do anyways.


While at the Atlanta airport in '03 I was trying to get home from ft. Benning and noticed a guy with general grade rank in an Air Force uniform with airborne/ranger tabs sewn on the chest.

I just said sweet outfit bud and gave a thumbs up.

These guys need to stop swinging for the fences. Just throw on some E4 rank, say you're in supply at guard unit and call it a day. No one would question you and you'd still get the attention you pathetically seek.

If they go on a convoy, quite a few. A lot of the surgeons and key medical personel are from guard/reserve units as well so I'd think they save lives.

Yeah, but they typically aren't on the battlefield saving lives. Believe it or not there is a difference between saving lives in the face of danger, and saving lives. Both are noble, but one requires potential sacrifice of self.

Well, we didnt have supply ng's with us...but we did have a plt of ng 19-d's attached to us. Surprisingly they were pretty squared away.

Sadly you see this on the active side as well. Supposedly with force reductions these and APFT failures will be the first to go.
