Anybody ever lived in Canada, or one of the other countries who observe Boxing Day?
It's supposed to be started around the idea of giving a box to the servants/service people in your life on the day after Christmas with money/gifts/food. The servants of rich people were expected to be there on Christmas Day, but they'd give them the day off on the 26th to be with their own family, and they get the box from the boss that day.
So my question is, does this day have any significance in these countries? Is that the day you give something to the barber, paper boy, maids, etc?
Anybody here had any experience with this?
