Google images comes up with lots of unrelated content. Hammer pants are harem pants. Parachute pants are like the ones I pictured. I know because I wore them.

Concur. The aforementioned melting of parachute material to my skin occurred on my middle school basketball court.

Agreed that parachute pants were more about the nylon material than the cut, though they were pretty b**** for the 80's.

Hammer's pants were definitely not parachute psnts.
