So, about to mount a large flat screen TV on the wall inrour game room. Question is, what have others who have done this done for their DVD player, gaming system, etc.??? Reason for mounting on the wall is to get rid of what it is setting on. Anyone found a good way to mount these other components to the wall as well???.

TIA

Get ready to run a bunch of wires through the wall to all your components. Have fun.

Our cords run through the wall to our components which are under a dresser, the drawers of which holds remotes, DVDs, extra cables, etc.

Just drill holes through the component casing and screw them in. I wouldn't use nails. Make sure to ask the Home Depot guy for electrical safe screws.

Reason for mounting the television to the wall is to get rid of a piece of furniture...

We use a glass shelf made for components that mounts just below tv. Run wires between the two through part of the shelf made for that. Wires that plug into wall run through wall down to outlet.

this pic reminds me of wondering why do people always mount their TV's way up high? Now you have to crane your neck up unnaturally the entire time watching tv, doesn't seem ergonomic. But, I might be missing something. I'd think you'd want your TV center to be exactly eye level when sitting in your seat.

Maybe you're 8 ft tall and prefer to stand while watching TV.

Our house had a a built in entertainment cabinet obove the fireplace. The front of the cabinet is flush with the wall. We took the cabinet door off and put all our components in the cabinet. Then we had a modified cattle gate installed to hang the tv over the cabinet concealing everything behind it. If we need to access the components we just open the tv. Also it lets me turn the tv so I can watch in the kitchen as well

Man, I'd love to get a nice, clean, enveloping home theater system set up, but I hardly get to watch anything anyway. All that is played now on the 19 inch we have in the living room is some Handy Manny and Magic Schoolbus anyway. Don't really want to set up a 105" projector and surround sound for that stuff to mesmerize my kids all that much more and have them want to watch even more TV. :-) i'd love my occasional games and movie though. (though, it's not like I could watch my stuff after they go to bed and shake the whole house with bass) ha. grrrr. /endvent
