Probably not. It just mean "white", as in caucasian or fair skinned. I suppose some people may use it in a derogatory fashion but I wouldn't take offense. Actually you don't seem to understand the limited use of the dieresis in the Spanish language and that it is not used when the "u" sound is silent. Such as the case of guero or guerra. The dieresis is used to stress a "u" sound.
