I'd drop my savings on rations, an AR w/ optics, and ammo and head right into the firefight with that AR and my Browning A-Bolt .300 WSM. There are probably many others better-armed and better-trained than me, so good luck dudes.

Why choose a rifle with more difficult to find ammo?

Hell for that matter why pick that round at all. There are far better shooting rounds that are much easier to find.

.22lr would be my choice. Ruger 10/22. Open sights.

Well if we are going like that I'd say something bolt action in a 22 with a can. So maybe a PWS with their little fast bolt and a suppressor.

Semiautos still make a bit too much noise cycling. Give me a nice smooth and quiet bolt.

Of course that would be for medium-close range sniping.

The .300 WSM is all I've got as far as long-range capability.
